  • Edna's motive wasn't properly explained, and her conflict with Adelle is unresolved, unless I skipped a sidequest or there's more to the story in the post-game.
  • What a waste of everyone's time, he didn't even got a mention after he dies so he could fly his airship? Apparently is noticing the whole time that Edna is using him for her own motives, yet carries out with the plan anyway and then AFTER you defeat him he just hands you the crystal and dies.
  • Man, I really hate Adam with a passion.
  • These are my spoiler thoughts on the story:

The party is carried by Elvis and Adell, that have really good dynamics and relationship development. Seth is a non-character, Gloria is a retread of Agnes that tries to show a little bit personality and character in a few scenes there and there, but ultimately falls flat. As I said previously in the thread, the asterisk holders do shine with personality and background, but the main party had the same problem as the original game. well, the game really peaks at Chapter 3 with the Rimedhal subplot, but afterwards everything feels rushed (in a game in which you might be spending a solid 15 hours in each city story arcs.). I have to mention Adam for being the ugliest character ever. I much prefer Yoshida's art direction from the original game rather than the new art director for Team Asano games, still. If I were to make a comparison, without having played the full game, I would thing this is similar case to Ni No Kuni II.Īfter all the funny comments we all did pre-release regarding the game graphics, I have to repeat that when playing the game, the characters really come to life and some of the texture and material work feels amazing.

BDII feels like a step into solidifying the franchise with a "quick" (which still took time to come out) follow-up that didnt deviate much from the formula (which in Bravely's case, it's a good thing from a gameplay perspective), but doesn't hold as much personality. It was always going to be hard to replicate the first BD twists and narratives, even more after the backslash it got from people wanting a more traditional experience. It resulted in a very good game, but not as special as the original. Overall, I quite liked the game, but the whole time I was playing it felt like this game getting made was just a deal to get a new Bravely game out. So I finished the game last night, after 80h and I still have to do the post-game and the last 5 or so sidequests involving super bosses.
